I’ve been a film and video professional for over a decade. In that time I’ve worked on a lot of sets and written, directed, produced, and edited numerous projects. A small sampling of that content is available on this site. I’ve seen a lot of changes in the business and I currently believe that the best creative and business opportunities for filmmakers like myself lie in creating high-end independent series for distribution over the Internet. Together with my business partner Dan Southworth, I’ve founded a media company to do just that. The company is Popular Uprising and the first project we’re releasing will be the action/sci-fi series DIVERGENCE.
I’ve written and directed two produced feature films, Entry Level and The No-Sit List which are currently in distribution, and I was the original writer on another produced feature, Ira Finkelstein’s Christmas. My short film Full Disclosure won numerous film festival awards and was the top-selling short film in the iTunes Store for several weeks. Many of my other short films have played in festivals, won awards, and found distribution as well. I have a number of projects in development as a writer and producer, and some of the scripts I’ve written for other companies are now winding their way into production as well. The nature of film development makes it difficult to discuss future projects in much detail, but I hope to make some mentions of these projects along the way.
My main thrust is on developing narrative series through Popular Uprising. However, between projects, I often work writing, directing, and editing commercial and corporate video productions for leading companies and brands including Microsoft, Novartis, Genentech and others. I also have a background in developing and marketing consumer products for high profile properties. When not creating films and series, I consults on the development of games and other consumer products for AAA brands including Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel Avengers, Disney Princess, Disney’s Phineas and Ferb, Mattel’s Barbie, Pokémon, and others.
